How to install a travel eSIM on Android
Menus differ a little between makers, but every eSIM-capable Android phone has the same three steps. Install at home, on Wi-Fi, before you travel.
Samsung Galaxy
Settings › Connections › SIM manager › Add eSIM › Scan QR code from service provider. To type the details instead, choose Enter activation code.
Google Pixel and most others
Settings › Network & internet › SIMs › Add SIM › Download a SIM instead (or Set up an eSIM). Scan the QR code, or choose to enter the details by hand.
Typing the details
Copy the SM-DP+ address and the activation code from your order page. Some phones ask for them as one line: LPA:1$, then the address, then $, then the code.
After installing
Keep the travel line's mobile data off until you land. When you arrive, set it as the mobile data line and turn on roaming for it. If there is no data, see the article about an eSIM with no internet.
